Unless you plan on going bow hunting, without having a good rifle, you can never achieve your full gear on potential. While being largely adventurous and exciting in nature, it also poses a lot of challenge and threat to the hunter's ability to survive in different weather conditions as well as courage to face and overcome encounters with fierce game.
