For a hunter, there is nothing more important than finding and selecting the right hunting rifle. Very simply, the hunter is only as good as the rifle they are using.
Most experienced hunters advise that the best way to hide your sent is simply to not develop one in the first place. You are excited because it is the opening day of deer season. Be sure to rattle with a bit of enthusiasm, and a few grunts will help to make it sound authentic.
Another important consideration when selecting the weight of your rifle is its accuracy. Some prefer mouth blowing, some prefer electronic calls, it depends on each and every hunter. If you only hunt a couple hours in the morning and a couple more in the evening you're missing some of the best hours to bag a big buck. Lots of the best bucks are taken in the late morning and noon hours.
I have heard story after story about how smart the old bucks can be - they will swim, crawl, hold tight in cover, and use their natural color and stealth methods to avoid even the most experienced hunters. It becomes more than just a hobby but an income generating activity as well.
